Job Title: Frequent Flyer Specialist
Location: Ottawa, Ontario or Virtual/ Remote
OVERALL ACCOUNTABILITY
Supports the Customer Experience team by researching, booking, and advising customers on frequent flyer program redemptions (primarily Aeroplan).
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
• Works closely with and reports to the Manager, Corporate Operations and the Director, Customer Experience
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITY
• Provides customers with assistance in choosing the most advantageous use of their frequent flyer points
• Completes frequent flyer redemptions, ensuring optimal use of points and accurate application of elite status benefits and customer preferences (i.e. seating, aircraft)
• Provides customer itinerary and invoicing support (GDS – Travelport Apollo/ Sabre)
• Projects an exceptionally professional manner, superb communication skills and thoughtful attention to both internal and external customers
• Researches current travel restrictions and clearly presents information to customers
SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
• Ability to access customer frequent flyer program profiles and book travel via airline online booking system
• Extensive knowledge of frequent flyer programs and elite status benefits (i.e. Aeroplan Elite status)
• Travel industry experience Global Distribution Systems (Travelport Apollo/ Sabre) is an asset but not an absolute requirement
• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office365
• Superior interpersonal, communication (both written and verbal) and organizational skills
• Professionalism and confidence in dealing with premium customers
• Discretion when dealing with privileged information
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage many tasks within a high-energy, fast-paced environment
